Commissioners OK Pruss Hill Road Accidents Study
The township will pay $ 7,500 in traffic planning and design (TPD) Inc., a company based in Sanatoga that provides transportation and construction inspection services to determine how the bridge and the road near the Pruss Hill Dam pond and more safely. The Board of Commissioners authorized the study at its Thursday (August 18, 2011) meeting.
Head Hawthorne said Rodney TPD assess the structural condition of the bridge, maintenance issues, daily traffic counts, vehicle speed, and related issues. All recommended repairs or changes would be an additional cost.
"I think it's something that is necessary," said Hawthorne, and added that money for the study has already been identified in the 2011 budget. Commissioners quickly agreed, they indicated previously Pruss Hill Road accidents have been a persistent and expensive to be addressed.
