AS The Bahamas continues to face serious challenges with crime and social issues as it relates to young people, Youth Alive is seeking to provide them with postive alternatives and a vision for the future during its upcoming conference.

Under the Theme: "Rise to the Top," The Youth Alive team will feature speakers such as: The International Youth and Family specialist Dr Dave Burrows, Dr Myles Munroe, Brooke Eneas, Minister and former Miss Florida Panhandle Pastor Angie Burrows, Rev Timothy Johnson and Minister Ricardo Clarke, all beginning on Wednesday June 29 - July -3 at The Diplomat Center, Carmichael Road.

In addition to keynote addresses, special day sessions are being held for youth focusing on leadership development. According to members, "A recent report published in our local media indicated that only 13 per cent of College of the Bahamas Graduates are males. Our females are not exempt and face their own issues in teen pregnancy, domestic violence and criminal involvement. Our youth are obviously in need of guidance and intervention."

Youth Alive is considered one of the premier Youth Conferences in this region and the world, it is an annual conference that is designed to minister to youth, youth leaders, youth pastors and others interested in the development and training of young people.

Tribune Religion understands that the conference is aiming to strengthen the faith of believers and also reach out to those who do not have a clear direction for their lives. In the past this event has attracted over 5,000 youth from the United States, Canada, Europe and Nassau and Family Islands.

Youth Alive is a lively, energetic event with dynamic teaching, music, drama and special events that has over the years captivated young people from all around the world.

"Youth Alive addresses topics and issues today's youth are faced with and provides practical, relevant answers to these challenges in a way that young people can relate to, stressing leadership training. Youth Alive is known for innovative and creative use of the media to reach teens on their level. This year's event is loaded with prolific speakers, musical artists and dramatists," members explained.
